I am a freelance artist currently working in Great Neck and Kingston N.Y.
My formal education is in studio art, textile design and Hebrew studies. I am a graduate of both New York University and the SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology certificate program in textile design.
My professional life began in textiles working as a colorist/designer in the carpet industry. Followed by a stint as an illustrator of archeological finds in Israel, I settled into a career as a Ketubah artist creating one-of-a-kind Jewish marriage documents. Hand calligraphed in Hebrew and Aramaic and illustrated with watercolor and illumination, these documents became the inspiration for my first quilts over 25 years ago.
Today my work is comprised of machine and hand quilted pieces as well as large and small scale weavings.
